Don’t miss The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at The Citadel Theatre! Performances until August 2!

The Tony Award–winning musical The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee runs Wednesday through Sunday weekly until August 2 at the Citadel Theatre!

This show is a hilarious celebration of words, competition, and growing up. In the high-stakes world of a spelling bee, six awkward adolescent champions face off as emotions run from A to Z. With each word spelled, the pressure rises and more than a trophy is on the line. Packed with clever wordplay, infectious songs, and laugh-out-loud humour, this fast-paced musical races to the finish with heart and charm. Six competitors enter but only one can be crowned champion of the bee!

My talented friend Cynthia Jimenez-Hicks plays Marcy in the show!! Go see it!!! I was supposed to watch it Opening Weekend but the local floods postponed some shows so I’m looking forward to checking it out tonight.

• Broadway Across Canada’s CLUE, Live On Stage! is in Edmonton at the Northern Jubilee Auditorium until July 19 and it’s a fantastically fun, funny, and fast-paced show inspired by the classic board game and 1985 movie! 🔪 (I was invited to Opening Night. 🙏🏻) A few things I loved about this production: The pace of the show! including no intermission. How hard the set works! Love the many doors and pull-out rooms of the mansion. The chandelier scenes and slow motion effects. The way in which they ran around to explore the house. The butler and his wild and impressive recap. All the physical comedy and perfect timing with sound and light effects! Arrive early and try to solve clues at the auditorium + take photos with some whodunit props too!
