ACCUSED CHINATOWN KILLER OPENS UP TO JUDGE

Justin Boone represented himself in his second-degree murder trial after after firing four legal aid lawyers. Bone is intent on hiring Tom Engel, a defence lawyer and police critic and is pursuing the Fisher application, a rare legal manoeuvre which allows a judge to appoint more expensive counsel than legal aid. Justice Inglis indicated that her priority is completing the Fisher application and preserving in the November trial dates.
