PRESERVING HANGAR 14 AND AVIATION MUSEUM MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER

Since hangar 11 burned down last week the attention shifts to hangar 14 which was built the same year as as hangar 11. Both hangars played a key role in World War 2 and at one time the airport was the busiest in the world.

Not only is hangar 14 the last remaining hangar in Edmonton it is home to the Alberta Aviation Museum and its very important collection of 2nd world aircraft. The museum needs an influx of money (possibly $41 million) to repair the historic building has made application to both the City and Alberta government. Hopefully the fire at hanger 11 will serve to bring the needs of hangar 14 and Alberta Aviation Museum to the fore.
