EXPIRATION OF CITADEL LEASE RAISES COSTLY ISSUES FOR THE CITY

The Citadel Theatre has been leasing their premises from the city for almost 50 years but the lease is about to expire. The ongoing operation is one concern but the bigger issue is the building and repair bills — expected to reach tens of millions of dollars, when factored in annually would amount to well over $1 million.

There is no room to add this to the current budget, so it may mean other projects will have to be delayed. Hopefully the expiration of the Citadel lease and what it means didn't catch the City by surprise.
