A number of big & small conventions at the Edmonton Convention Centre and the Edmonton EXPO Centre have helped local businesses. Conventions bring people from near and far to the venues so restaurants, hotels and other businesses all benefit. Conventions are seasonal so hopefully the summer and fall season will bring many conventions and the business boon will continue. Even before the next season it would be great if the Oilers kept winning and the businesses near the Ice District would also benefit from their winning ways.
