For the past 13 months everyone departing from and most arrivals to the Edmonton International Airport (YEG) had to walk through a tunnel but as of this morning, that long tunnel walk is a thing of the past. The departure road and ramp is now complete and the lower level’s arrival road is open again to function as a paid, short-term pick-up area called Arrivals Paid. Complimentary pickup and alternative drop-off will also continue to be available at the Pickup and Drop-off area, now called Arrivals Free and Park and the Wait Area and Family Loading and Unloading Zone, will continue to be accessible to the public free of charge.

The reopening will be welcome news to the approximate 8.2 million passengers YEG services every year.
