The city just released data about 55 opiod deaths in October. Although the data for November and December is not available it appears the city is on track to surpass its record of 626 deaths reported in 2021. The number of deaths reflects the sad reality of the damage caused by deadly addiction.

The Alberta recovery model is laying a new path forward, one that supports people in their pursuit of recovery and restore hope for a future in recovery, rather than ongoing suffering in addiction. As part of the recovery model the province has added more than 10,000 addiction treatment spaces and plans to build 11 recovery communities across the province.
