The effect on food prices has meant the food bank has had to increase their annual food plus increase the price of a new delivery truck being built in the USA. Habitat for Humanity Edmonton is preparing to deal with an estimated jump in prices for building materials that are subject to tariff increases.
in 2017 the late President Carter and his wife Rosalynn visited Edmonton as part of a cross Canada Habitat For Humanity building project of 150 homes to mark Canada’s 150th anniversary. In the Edmonton HFH office, a hammer hanging on the wall was signed by President and Mrs. Carter as a dedication. Ann-Marie Reddy, president and CEO of HFH Edmonton says its not just an ordinary tool, it’s our hammer of hope.
With the help of around 14,000 volunteers and homeowners, the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project built “Carter Place” which has 58 townhomes.
